Quantum Computers: The Future of Computing or Just Hype?

A quantum computer is a type of computer that uses the unique properties of quantum physics.

On very small scales, matter behaves like both particles and waves, and quantum computers take advantage of this using special hardware. Unlike classical physics, which cannot fully explain these devices, quantum computers have the potential to solve certain problems much faster than today's traditional computers.

In theory, a large quantum computer could break some types of encryption and help scientists run advanced simulations.

However, current quantum computers are still experimental and face many challenges before they can be used for practical purposes.

Google claims to have developed a chip that is over a billion times faster than the fastest supercomputers. According to the company, their quantum computer can solve a problem in just five minutes that would take a traditional supercomputer longer than the age of the universe.
